I personally believe we are nearing the end of an age, not the end of the world. We have still to enter the “era of peace” promised us by Our Lady of Fatima. The Church Fathers speak about this….
“…we understand that a period of one thousand years is indicated in symbolic language… A man among us named John, one of Christ’s Apostles, received and foretold that the followers of Christ would dwell in Jerusalem for a thousand years, and that afterwards the universal and, in short, everlasting resurrection and judgment would take place. —St. Justin Martyr, Dialogue with Trypho, The Fathers of the Church, Christian Heritage
“Therefore, the Son of the most high and mighty God… shall have destroyed unrighteousness, and executed His great judgment, and shall have recalled to life the righteous, who… will be engaged among men a thousand years, and will rule them with most just command… Also the prince of devils, who is the contriver of all evils, shall be bound with chains, and shall be imprisoned during the thousand years of the heavenly rule…4th century Ecclesiastical writer, Lactantius, “The Divine Institutes”, The ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol 7, p. 211
St. Paul taught…..”There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” Heb 4
…the efforts of Satan and of evil men are shattered and come to naught. In spite of Satan’s anger, the Divine Mercy will triumph over the whole world and will be worshiped by all souls. —Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary of St. Faustina, n. 1789
So the Coming of Jesus in glory happens after all things prophesied have taken place…..after the “era of peace” then will come the Judgement.
“On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares, have grown up together in the course of history. —Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 681
God is patient, full of mercy and compassion, not wanting any of us to be lost, but if we don’t change there will come a time when He will ALLOW a great ‘storm’ to come upon us. Heaven has been warning us through genuine seers of all that is to take place. (See https://charliej373.wordpress.com/summary-for-newcomers/ )
We are also warned by Jesus through St Faustina.
“Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them. —Jesus to St. Faustina, Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary, n. 848
“…before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy… before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy. He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice… —Divine Mercy in My Soul, Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary, n. 83, 1146
False prophets have been especially active in the last few decades warning of events that were to happen…”SOON”..but they didn’t happen as they predicted! Satan likes playing games – he’s “cried wolf” so many times in order to confuse the faithful…. with the obvious result that many have stopped believing in any kind of private revelation whatsoever! Those of us who are now aware of his tactics…. and won’t throw out the ‘baby with the bathwater’… know that the most sensible thing to do is stay with the Church and “listen to them” as Jesus told us to do. This way we won’t be fooled into accepting false prophets who are sent only to deceive the people and drown out the true voice of God.
